Y RUN 5k scheduled for May 12 in Doylestown

It’s time to register for the Annual Y RUN 5k set for Saturday, May 12. The early evening race includes a traditional 5k, Strength Walk and 1-mile Fun Run.

The event will once again be hosted on the Delaware Valley University campus where runners enjoy scenic views of the campus’ open winding roads and rolling hills. This year the race will be held on:

May 12, 2018
Delaware Valley University
700 E. Butler Ave., Doylestown, PA 18901

The 1-mile Family Fun Run begins at 5:00 PM and the 5k race start is scheduled for 5:30pm. A Strength Walk will immediately follow the 5k runners on the course.

This year the race has a special Mother’s Day theme. Mothers, grandmothers, aunts and friends are invited to stop by the “Paint Spot” to customize their race shirts to create a special race day memory. There will also be a selfie station where you can pose with your favorite cheerleader or running buddy.

All are invited to a post-race celebration featuring local food vendors including Nina’s Waffles and Jules Thin Crust, available for purchase. Runners age 21 and older will receive a complementary adult beverage. A post-race hydration party for runners 21 and over is also offered at Chambers 19 in Doylestown with one free drink per race bib.

Ample free parking is available on the campus. Indoor bathrooms and an onsite ATM will also be available.

Race information is found at cbfymca.org/5k including online registration links.  Walk-in registration will be available May 11 (5:00-7:00 PM) and on May 12 (3:30-5:00 PM), both at Delaware Valley University.

All funds raised at the 5k and Fun Run will support the Y’s Community Impact Programs that benefit cancer survivors, veterans, teens, active older adults and individuals with special needs.

Y RUN 5k and 1-mile Fun Run is part of the Bucks 5k Series which offers seven races each spring. Event details for the series can be found on their website at bucks5kseries.com. Y RUN 5k is sponsored by Penn Community Bank, GMG Insurance Agency, Anne O’Day Orthodontics and Gym Source.
