Teen Invited to “Go Global” for service and adventure in Peru
Bucks County teens are invited to join Central and Lower Bucks Family YMCAs to “Go Global” on a trip to Peru for service and adventure this August.
Teens 13 years old and older have the opportunity to expand their world experience and earn service hours in Lima, Peru from August 8-13. Teens will earn twenty-seven YMCA verified service hours by working on a project at a local orphanage, as well as projects around the YMCA Peru. The trip will also include fun excursions and the chance to experience local culture.
“This trip is such a wonderful opportunity for teenagers to get out and explore the world and do some good in the process,” said Go Global leader Valerie Tanner. “We hope teens from all over Bucks County will consider joining us on this incredible adventure.”
Two information sessions are being held for parents and teens to learn more about the trip:
190 S. Sycamore St.
May 31, 7 p.m.
2500 Lower State Rd
Also this summer, teens from Peru and their chaperones will travel to Central Bucks as part of a cultural exchange. Teens will participate in trips to historic Philadelphia, Washington D.C. and New York and visit local nonprofit and cultural organizations to get a taste of American culture.
Teens must apply to attend the trip, but do not need to be members at either YMCA. The deadline to register is June 30. For additional information and to register, contact Valerie Tanner at 267-454-6971 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
