YMCA of Bucks County, Penn Color announce $1 million “For A Better Us” Campaign gift

lobbyRYMCA of Bucks County is proud to announce a $1 million “For A Better Us” Campaign gift from Penn Color, a Doylestown based colorant manufacturer. The organizations share a longstanding commitment to empowering individuals and strengthening the community.

“Penn Color is a big believer in YMCA of Bucks County’s dedication to being the go-to destination for healthy living and youth development in Bucks County. We are excited to have a part in the Y’s bold vision for growth and to offer the best of the best in programs and services. There’s something for everyone at the Y and we are proud to continue our support and help “color” Bucks County with wellness,” said Penn Color President and CEO Kevin Putman.

With the generous support of donors, YMCA of Bucks County makes a big impact in the community. The non-profit organization expects to provide nearly $5 million in community benefit this year and help nearly 50,000 individuals live more active, healthy lives, regardless of age, income or background. The Y serves the community through its financial assistance and free impact programs such as memberships for 7th graders, a fitness program for cancer survivors, a lifestyle program for adults with prediabetes, a 12-week program for veterans to improve their health and fitness, free swim safety lessons for qualifying second graders and more.

The “For A Better Us” Campaign will allow for the expansion of impact programs county-wide, as well as finance two major capital projects in Doylestown and Fairless Hills. In Doylestown, space will be added and reconfigured to expand the fitness center, add program space, and add universal, private locker rooms. In Fairless Hills, the facility will be reconfigured within its current footprint to allow for an expanded fitness center and locker rooms, additional program space, a community gathering area, and more parking, plus give the building a new look.

“Penn Color has been a generous partner for our YMCA and we are so grateful for their gift to the campaign. As our organization continues to grow, so does the need in our community. This donation from from Penn Color enables us to continue our mission to create a stronger, healthier Bucks County,” said YMCA of Bucks County President/CEO Zane Moore.
