YMCA of Bucks County 5K set for May 11, returning to Doylestown branch


5K2019rThe 25th Annual 5k hosted by YMCA of Bucks County is returning home for 2019. The popular, regional 5k is being hosted on the campus of the Y’s Doylestown branch for the first time since 2015. Renamed Bucks County Strong 5K the race move celebrates the recent merger of all YMCAs in Bucks County and is a celebration of community and Bucks County.

The race will feature a 1-mile family fun run, beginning at 9:00AM with the 5k race directly following at 9:30AM. Family-friendly activities and finish line fun will follow on the grounds of Central Bucks West High School football stadium.   

“Feedback from the community and series runners has been overwhelmingly positive,” said Lisa Schwartzer, co-race director with Michele Zosulis. “Everyone is so glad that the run is returning to the Doylestown branch and surrounding streets for the 25th anniversary.”

Race registration is now open on the Bucks 5K Series website at bucks5kseries.com. 5k race registration is $30 in advance and increases to $40 after May 4. Fun Run registration is $10.
