County-wide celebrations mark YMCA expansions


It’s spring and YMCA of Bucks County is celebrating with free, Spring Fling weekend events for families across Bucks County. The weekend is designed to celebrate the grand opening of the Y’s Doylestown branch expansion, the recent addition of a pool to the Warminster branch, Healthy Kids Day in Fairless Hills and the kickoff of summer camp season. 

Held primarily outdoors, the family events are free and open to the community, each with different offerings and activities including inflatables, food trucks, games, music, group exercise sample classes, facilities tours and more. 

At the Doylestown branch, the Friday evening event will include tours of the 22,000 square foot expansion including wellness center, universal locker rooms, spin and program studios. The new spaces include high ceilings, new HVAC and new UV-C air sanitizing units.

While all events are free, advanced registration at ymcabucks.org/springfling is requested to ensure that outdoor and indoor safety protocols are met. Events include: 

Doylestown Branch Grand Opening Celebration

Family fun celebration of the grand opening for the new expansion. Tours as well as group exercise sample classes, summer camp fun and information, food trucks, healthy snacks and refreshments, carnival games, giveaway bags of fun activities, inflatable obstacle course, DJ with music.

Healthy Kids Day in Fairless Hills

An afternoon of fun at Cabrini, site of the YMCA Fairless Hills summer camp program. Group exercise sample classes, carnival games, inflatable obstacle course, music, balloon animals, educational resources for families, refreshments and more. 

Quakertown Spring Fling

Warminster Spring Fling Event

Fun for the whole family celebrating the return of summer camp to Warminster and the new pool with music, healthy snacks and refreshments, carnival games, sample classes, summer camp information and giveaways. Facility tours of the new pool and wellness center offered.  

Newtown Open House

The Newtown branch will offer an open house for the community to stop by and speak with staff about membership and summer camp programs at the nearby Holland campsite. 

To encourage the community to begin or continue a healthy lifestyle, the Y in Bucks County encourages individuals and families to join the Y anytime in April and pay nothing until May. In addition to these savings, membership at the Y provides incredible benefits including access to all membership branches including Wellness Centers with state-of-the-art strength and cardio equipment. Indoor and outdoor group exercise classes are provided free to members as well as unlimited, online access to Y Wellness 24/7, virtual wellness platform with live and on-demand classes. 

The Doylestown, Quakertown and Warminster branches offer pools with free, daily recreational swim and aqua group exercise classes available as well as swim lessons for youth and adults. Membership at any branch provides a reduced rate on all YMCA programs including summer camp.
