For a Better Us:
Doylestown Branch Expansion
YMCA of Bucks County
YMCA of Bucks County is a strong community partner with a rich history. Thanks to our donors, the Y strengthens our communities through healthy living, youth development and social responsibility. We serve more than 60,000 members, program participants and community members throughout Bucks County.
In order to best serve our communities and address the increased demand for Y services, the Y has announced a $20 million unprecedented campaign to improve the quality of life for the greater Bucks County community, health disparate populations and children, youth and families. Through programs and facility renovations, we will have the resources we need to build a healthier, stronger Bucks County and to significantly address the growing needs for accessibility, programs and services.
Current plans include a 3,445 square foot expansion of the fitness center. This new space will allow for the addition of dozens of new machines, new dedicated stretching, training and TRX areas as well as expanded weight area. Additionally, an expansion will be added on the current grassy courtyard to accommodate a new dedicated spin room and new studio space.
New Spin Room and Program Space
Plans include the addition of a program space and new expanded spin studio, doubling the existing spin space. Future space will be ‘roughed-in’ on a second floor addition, above the new expanded space. This will allow the Y to provide additional programming space to youth, seniors and members of our community impact programs including Veterans Wellness, THRIVE cancer wellness, and Back to You for substance abuse recovery.
Universal Locker Room
Renovations include the expansion and renovation of the youth male and female locker rooms to create a renovated universal locker room with over 20 single-occupancy or family changing, toilet and showering spaces to accommodate all special situations.
