Subject:     YMCA of Bucks County: Fairless Hills Y Branch Capital Project

My comments pertain to YMCA of Bucks County Fairless Hills YMCA Branch Capital Project located along 601 S. Oxford Valley Road, Fairless Hills, PA.

It has come to my attention that YMCA of Bucks County has made a recent $1,000,000 request for CDBG funding to the County of Bucks to help with the ADA accessibility for the newly renovated facility.

As a Bucks County citizen, I strongly encourage your full support for this important project which will make an impact upon residents of Lower Bucks, a low to moderate income community. The Y makes numerous and valuable contributions to the community.

In the lower Bucks County region, the Y creates access to childcare programs for low-income families, provides free programs for adults and children with health disparities, and feeds more than 1,500 children per day. This year our anticipated impact will be more than $2.5 million.

The $11 million facilities revitalization project will include more than $1.2 million in ADA upgrades. This will provide an elevator, universal locker and changing rooms, doorways, bathrooms and pool access. Overall, this aspect of the project will benefit veterans, cancer survivors, active older adults and other populations with special health and socio-economic needs.

The Fairless Hills Y Branch Capital Project will have a significant impact upon the community that we serve in the Lower Bucks region and beyond by focusing on the health and strength of all its residents. Thank you for the opportunity to comment and I am counting upon your support with a grant award to the YMCA.

          Sincerely,

By signing below, I acknowledge the sending of the above posted letter on my behalf.
