At the Y, we provide more than just a state-of-the-art fitness center and exercise studios, we are focused on the health and well-being of each of our members and strive to provide you with the tools you need to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

JOURNEY is a menu of options to help you achieve and/or maintain a healthy lifestyle. When you join, we will help connect you with areas of the Y that support your interest and goals. Below is a listing of ways that you get started on your successful health and welllness journey:

Fitness Orientation

Meet with a Y Staff Member (Fitness Coach) to gain comfort and familiarity in the Fitness Center. Each orientation is 60 minutes. Members should come ready not to just learn about equipment but to try them as well. Should your interest be in an area other than fitness, like aquatics or sports, simply reach out to the director of that department in your home branch.

GOAL SETTING CONVERSATION

Schedule an appointment with any staff member in any department to discuss your goals and personal interests. These conversations can be about fitness goals but can also involve other areas of the Y.

Interested in swimming laps but not sure how to get started? Contact the aquatics director in your branch. Want to start playing basketball but unsure how to start? Contact the sport director in your branch. Contact your Welcome Center today!

Many new members report that starting with a personal trainer, nutritionist or health coach at the beginning of their health and wellness journey is a great way to ensure that you are doing the right activities to support your personal goals.

Stocked full of everything you will need at each of our branches, our app includes a "find a class" feature, electronic access to schedules and links to current member challenges. You can also keep track of your workouts right on the app -- record manually or take a photo of your equipment screen, and it will automatically input the information for you. It's a great way to participate in the Y community while 'doing your own thing.'

INBODY SCAN

Coming in March 2020!  The InBody Test provides a comprehensive view of body composition balance. Body water, proteins, minerals, and body fat, which are the components of the human body closely relate to the status of our health. Using the method of quantitative analysis, these elements of body composition and body composition analysis provide basic information required for assessing the status of the body. <InBody website>

Teen - Tween Fitness orientation

Our fitness centers are open to anyone ages 12+. In properly orienting children to the rules and proper use of equipment, teens/tweens age 12-14 must complete a Teen Strength & Fitness Orientation before using the fitness center. Register for this class as follows:
