At the Y, we provide more than just a state-of-the-art fitness center and exercise studios, we are focused on the health and well-being of each of our members and strive to provide you with the tools you need to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Member Journey

JOURNEY is a menu of options to help you achieve and/or maintain a healthy lifestyle. When you join, we will help connect you with areas of the Y that support your interest and goals. Below is a listing of ways that you get started on your successful health and welllness journey:

Fitness Orientation

New to the machines? We've created a series of training plans with animations designed to teach you the basics of each of our machines, conveniently located on our app.

  1. Download / visit app "YMCA OF BUCKS COUNTY"
  2. Tap WORKOUTS
  3. Select "See All" next to "Top Picks:" Adult/ Teen Cardio, Adult Total Body Strength, Teen Strength or any of the other great workouts listed
  4. Press play. 

Not sure how to complete an exercise listed on a training plan? Click on the icon associated with the exercise to view an animation of how to complete the exercise.

Fitness Consultation

Meet with a Personal Trainer to share your health and fitness goals. You will then get direction and support on how to achieve them! Appointments can be made via the contact information below:

GOAL SETTING CONVERSATION

Schedule an appointment with any staff member in any department to discuss your goals and personal interests. These conversations can be about fitness goals but can also involve other areas of the Y.

Interested in swimming laps but not sure how to get started? Contact the aquatics director in your branch. Want to start playing basketball but unsure how to start? Contact the sports director in your branch. Contact your Welcome Center today!

ADDITIONAL HELP

Many new members report that starting with a personal trainer, nutritionist or health coach at the beginning of their health and wellness journey is a great way to ensure that you are doing the right activities to support your personal goals.

DOWNLOAD THE APP

Stocked full of everything you will need at each of our branches, our app includes a "find a class" feature, electronic access to schedules and links to current member challenges. You can also keep track of your workouts right on the app -- record manually or take a photo of your equipment screen, and it will automatically input the information for you. It's a great way to participate in the Y community while 'doing your own thing.'

Teen - Tween Fitness orientation

Our fitness centers are open to anyone ages 12+. In properly orienting children to the rules and proper use of equipment, teens/tweens age 12-14 must complete two YMCA training plans aimed at orienting them to proper use of equipment and fitness. Programs are conveniently located on our app.
