Our Quakertown Branch is conveniently located in Quakertown, PA and provides programs and services for the entire family. The facility has a state-of-the-art fitness center with free weights and cardiovascular equipment, aquatics center wiith lap pool, family pool with waterslide and sauna, group exercise classes, babysitting services, locker rooms for men, women and families and on on-site child care center and summer camp program.

Fitness for Active Older Adults
SS Splash

Activate your aqua exercise urge for variety! SilverSplash offers lots of fun and shallow water moves to improve agility, flexibility and cardiovascular endurance. No swimming ability is required, and a special SilverSneakers kickboard is used to develop strength, balance and coordination.

Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activity for daily living skills. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball are offered for resistance, and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support.

SS Circuit

Combine fun with fitness to increase your cardiovascular and muscular endurance power with a standing circuit workout. Upper-body strength work with hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a SilverSneakers ball is alternated with non-impact aerobic choreography. A chair is used for support, stretching, and relaxation exercises.

Designed for the active senior, this combo class of cardio and strength involves basic step or floor stepping at a slow tempo with free weights and body weight exercises mixed in.

ASHTANGA YOGA

This dynamic, physically demanding practice synchronizes breath and movement to produce an internal heat designed to purify the body. Ashtanga yoga, with its many vinyasas, is great for building core strength and toning the body. Prepare to sweat as you briskly move through a set sequence. Zumba® Gold is designed for the active older adult, the true beginner, and/or people who are not used to exercising, or people who may be limited physically. Zumba Gold is done at a much lower intensity. The same great Latin styles of music and dance are used and just as fun as the regular Zumba® classes. Zumba® Gold classes strive to improve our balance, strength, flexibility and most importantly, the heart.

Students learn butterfly while continuing to develop endurance while refining breaststroke, back and front crawl and diving. Our swim team involves all ability levels and competes in the PennDel Swim league. The Barracudas are an age-level team split into groups based on age and ability.  Registration is not available online. Contact our aquatics office at 215.536.9622.

An introduction to competitive swimming with an emphasis on instruction and developmental drills to teach the four competitive strokes. Participants must be able to swim one full length of the pool with the beginning concept of rotary breathing and be able to stay afloat on their back while moving the arms.

Located in the Community Education Room. | The primary purpose of the American Red Cross Babysitter's Training course it to provide youth who are planning to babysit with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly give care for children and infants. This training will help participants to develop leadership skills; learn how to develop a babysitting business, keep themselves and others safe and help children behave: This training is designed for youth ages 11-15. Includes an add-on component of CPR/AED and first aid certifications, book, and CD ROM.

Instructional preschool gymnastics classes. Children will use all pieces of apparatus; vault, bars, beam, floor and tumble trak. Evaluations will occur every other month to moniter progress. This is a child independent class and parents observe from the hallway. Children should be potty-trained to participate in this program.
