Ability Programs for Adults

YMCA of Bucks County welcomes individuals of all abilities and continues to support their needs as health seekers with knowledgeable staff, professional instructors, and supportive programs. 

Doylestown

ABILITY Membership

An ABILITY membership is available to those who qualify offering membership and programs at a reduced rate. The membership is designed so that members can be safe and successful while using the facility or participating in programs, with the assistance of a caregiver.

Programs for adults include:

Seekers

Sept through June | Mon and/or Wed 4:00-7:00 PM
A recreation program for adults with disABILITIES to enjoy a variety of structured activities, including crafts, pool (optional), gym games and ample social opportunities with peers.

One-on-one Instruction

Work one–on–one with a professional instructor in fitness and aquatics programming. Workouts individually designed with participants goals in mind.  Flexible options for all levels once or twice a week. Instruction geared toward individuals who may benefit more from a personalized instruction setting.

Quakertown

Classes are offered on a session-basis specifically for adults with special needs including art, sports and group exercise.

ABILITY Programs
Ability Holiday Camps
Send your child to the Y for their best day off from school ever! Kids will enjoy fun activities such as art, music, and games in the morning followed by outside sports and games, and swimming in the afternoon.

ABILITY - Teen Night
Typically held the 2nd and 4th Friday of the month. Activities include swimming, dancing, sports, games and more!

Adapted Aquatics Group Lessons
Focus on water acclimation, self-confidence, and beginnings swimming skills on their front, back and side. Participants are encouraged and taught how to voluntarily submerge while standing and swimming. Ratio 1:4
