mosaicSMThe Doylestown branch of YMCA of Bucks County is hosting “Mosaic Week” between September 23-29 to provide information and bolster support from members and the community for their imminent expansion project and community mosaic.

The organization will create a mosaic art piece, representing donors at the $1500+ level made up of artistic, colored tiles listing the name of the donor. The mosaic is planned to be a central art piece in the completed expansion. The Y encourages their members and the community to stop by the branch during Mosaic Week, when each day from opening to close staff, volunteers and members of their board of directors will be in their lobby talking about the expansion project and the mosaic. As an added incentive, the information table will include food, giveaways and a raffle opportunity to win great prizes, like a year of YMCA membership, when a mosaic tile is donated before October 4. Donations can be fulfilled over a two year period.

The Doylestown branch is on the precipice of an expansion project aimed at expanding their services to members and the community. Donations received already exceed $16.2M toward a Bucks County-wide, comprehensive campaign entitled “For a Better Us” and the Y aims to fund an additional $1.5M toward the goal of $20M.

In addition to funding expanded community impact programs throughout Bucks County including financial assistance, cancer wellness and veterans programs, the funds will support two planned expansion projects at the Doylestown and Fairless Hills branches. In Doylestown, the branch will be expanded to include additional exercise studios, an expanded weight room area and larger fitness center. At the center of changes in Doylestown is the expansion of the current family locker room space to a universal locker room to include 23 individual changing rooms for families and individuals with special situations.
