DOYLESTOWN BRANCH

The branch located in Doylestown, just outside Doylestown Borough, features an aquatics center with six-lane, 25-meter competition pool and waterpark pool with water slide and hot tub. The Y has a full-size gymnasium, fitness center with weight rooms, four group fitness studios, including a spin studio with 32 Stages spin bikes available for various programming, sauna, babysitting services, teen center, preschool, skatepark.  Free to member programs include youth and teen programs and a robust schedule of group fitness classes including yoga, pilates and more (over 100 class offerings per week).

Zumba and chair zumba offers the fun of Zumba with modified moves and pace. Music includes Latin salsa, merengue, cumbia and reggaeon. Chair may be used during this class.

Tai Chi & Pilates

Tai Chi is a Chinese movement art and a class where muscles are strengthened, blood circulation regulated, spirit stimulated and body refreshed. Program promotes balance, digestion and increase internal energy. Pilates is a progressive series of floor exercises and standing postures to enhance and develop flexibility strength and balance. Chair must be used and movements demonstrated at a slower pace and with more modifications.

1:6 ratio; Students develop stroke technique in front crawl and back crawl and learn the breaststroke kick and butterfly kick. Water safety is reinforced through treading water and elementary backstroke. Move to Stage 5 when you can swim 15 yards doing the elementary backstroke, front and back crawl with rotary breathing, swim-float-swim 25 yards and 15 yards of breaststroke and butterfly kicks.

Fit Me (age 6-17)
FitMe is small-group and individual fitness instruction for children and teens with special needs. Led by a pediatric physical therapist, small groups of individuals will participate in strength, endurance, and flexibility activities incorporating coordination, balance, socialization, and FUN! An open gym space encourages functional strengthening and whole-body movement. Prior to enrollment, participants will receive a one-on-one consultation with the instructor to review medical history, assess current fitness and mobility levels, discuss goals, and determine best class placement. One-on-one instruction is also available.  A written physician clearance to participate in exercise is required.

While you workout or utilize the facility, your children age 3 months through 6th grade can play and have fun in Stay & Play.

  • Available on a walk-in basis for up to two hours per day
  • FREE to members (children of adult members and youth members)
  • $5 per child drop-in rate for non-members for up to two hours
  • primary guardian must maintain a KidCheck account (see link for details)
  • separate K-6 room available for elementary school-aged children to hang out, do homework, play xbox Kinect video games & board games while being supervised by staff  Doylestown location only
  • children and parents are encouraged to follow Stay & Play handbook and to grow in the four core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility.
